Oh-wee!!! Love love love it!!!! I have to try this gathering technique on a wedding gown I’m doing for August. It has a removable jacket with adornment like the rosettes all over it! This post gave me an inspiration on how to do it! BTW!!! I love my patterns, thanks so much!!!
You’re welcome, Tee! Your jacket project sounds fabulous. I’ll keep an eye out for a picture!

Oh, you had fun! Lots of inspiration for manipulating fabric. This is a modern take on a vintage fashion.
You bet I had fun! It was quickly made, too. I’ve road tested it several times and it’s already in the laundry :). Looks like this will be my go-to blouse this summer. Thanks for your comment.
Love it Samina! Thanks for sharing
You are welcome, Lynn!
Love this and am now inspired by your talent to make something repurposed – or, upscaled – as soon as I return home! Will keep my eyes peeled – and my camera ready – to take some fashion shots as we travel for a Look Book. Thank you, Samina!
Thank you, Annie! I can hardly wait to see what you re-purpose. Will be waiting for your Look Book.
Great idea Samina! The blouse is adorable – reminds me of the rosettes on Jackie Kennedy’s wedding gown!
thanks, Charlene! Wait, what? I’ll have to look up Jackie K’s wedding gown. Don’t remember rosettes…..
I can’t upload the photo directly here but here’s a link to a page of the dress …
Scroll down to the ivory colored picture from the Kennedy Library. The detail on the dress is stunning!
O-o-o-oh! I’ve seen that dress many times but never focused on the lower skirt. It is just gorgeous. Thanks for the link.
SEW cute! Just the inspiration I needed and reminder about the gathering foot. I’m doing a historic/vintage ‘fashion a hat’ class and the rosettes will be perfect.
Thanks, Janith! Post some pictures of the hat with rosettes.
Nicely done, I can see the inspiration in the newly remodeled shirt!
Thanks, Sue. I thought it captured the essence of the Anthro shirt. Originally, I was going to use a pink/white striped cotton to knock off the Anthropologie shirt. But when this old J Crew was being discarded by my daughter, I saw the potential and grabbed it from her.
